A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Switch release date would mark the series’ return to a Nintendo console. This first-person shooter sequel is directly following up on the 2022 game, which makes for a tight turnaround in a subseries that the franchise as a whole almost never does. Many are wondering if the game is coming out on Switch, so here’s everything we know.
Is Modern Warfare 3 coming out on Switch?
Modern Warfare 3 hasn’t been confirmed for a Switch release. Call of Duty hasn’t been on a Nintendo platform since 2013’s Ghosts. And it seemed like it would stay that way until Microsoft and Nintendo signed a 10-year deal noting that the shooter series would come to Nintendo platforms.
While still possible, it’s unlikely to start with Modern Warfare 3, especially since Microsoft hasn’t officially acquired Activision just yet. However, for what it’s worth, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said he regretted not putting Call of Duty on the Switch sooner. He also said he would “like to think” Activision would release Call of Duty on the Switch’s successor if it got detailed specs. So even if the acquisition somehow falls through, it seems like Activision is open to putting Call of Duty on the next Nintendo platform, which is rumored to come out in 2024.
Is there a Modern Warfare 3 Switch release date?
There is no Modern Warfare 3 Switch release date. While platforms haven’t yet been officially confirmed, it’ll likely just come to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on November 10. And since it reportedly started life as Modern Warfare 2 DLC, it’s unlikely that this entry will be the one to debut one Nintendo hardware after a decade away.
