A Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus option would let players continue swinging through New York City with all of the gear and powers they acquired at the end of the campaign. But many games do not ship with that extra mode. So does Spider-Man 2 have NG+?
Does Spider-Man 2 have New Game Plus?
Spider-Man 2 has not launched with New Game Plus. As such, once you beat the story, you can only start a fresh save or just continue to swing around the city with your completed file.
However, as is the case with many first-party Sony games like God of War and Ghost of Tsushima, New Game Plus is on the way. Sony has confirmed that New Game Plus is coming to Spider-Man 2 sometime in December. However, that month is just a target, so it is possible it will slip into 2024. For context, it took around a month for Insomniac Games to patch in New Game Plus in the 2018 title, while Miles Morales launched with it.
It is unclear how the New Game Plus mode will be handled in Spider-Man 2. New Game Plus in the 2018 original was just a straightforward mode that had players simply going through the game with all of the abilities and upgrades. It was a little different in Miles Morales, as New Game Plus in the spin-off had its own set of upgrades that players push Miles a little further. It gave users access to their upgrades and suits, but had more of a twist.
Miles Morales and the 2018 game also had trophies associated with New Game Plus, meaning it is very likely Spider-Man 2 will follow suit. But given how it is coming in a post-launch, it will not be required for the Platinum trophy, much like the 2018 title.
