With the likes of Starfield being Xbox exclusive, Microsoft seems quite keen to keep some of its IPs to itself. However, there is a rumor that one game could make its way to other platforms, such as the PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
Almost certainly won’t be Redfall
According to the latest Nate the Hate podcast episode, there’s a possibility that a mysterious Xbox exclusive could be heading to other, non-Microsoft systems.
While there are no details about it just yet, the show’s host says it will be a title with “high acclaim,” adding that “fans loved it” and a PS5 or Switch version of the game in question would “be met with a lot of excitement.” The discussion begins around the 1:06:00 mark.
According to a report from VGC, fans strongly believe the speculations could be referring to Tango Gameworks‘ rhythm game Hi-Fi Rush. The podcast also throws around the possibility of it being Redfall, but this is met with laughter and assurance that it almost certainly won’t be this that’s going multiplatform.
Released with barely any fanfare, Hi-Fi Rush went down as one of the most surprising smash hits of 2023. In fact, it was number eight on our Game of the Year list, coming ahead of Street Fighter 6 and Amnesia: The Bunker.
It should be said that these are just rumors until either Microsoft, Tango Gameworks, or Bethesda (the game’s publisher) comments on the theories.
There’s no denying that Hi-Fi Rush was a success last year for the Xbox, so there will doubtless be plenty of people who would love to be able to play it on either Sony or Nintendo‘s consoles.
