New Assassin’s Creed Discussion Suggests Asia-Based Game Not Impossible

Assassin's Creed has presented several different stories told within the context of real history, though some would rightly argue that the setting proves more important than the time and gamers hoping Ubisoft takes them East have new reason to continue that argument.

During PlayStation China, Ubisoft producer Stephanie Perotti told press that the company hasn't ruled out moving in Chinese history:

I don't think we said we weren't interested in Chinese history. I think that we notice a lot of stories—we want to have creativity to create the right story [within the right context]. If we have Assassin's Creed creators that want to spend time [understanding the history of the setting], we can understand Chinese history or Japanese history and make these games about history.

We hope to see China's unique architecture and city design in a future Assassin's Creed game soon. For more on the franchise, be sure to read our Assassin's Creed Unity review here and our Assassin's Creed Rogue review here.
