[Update] The latest patch for Assassin's Creed Unity is live now and weighs in at 6.7GB. However, some on Xbox One are getting hit with a whopping 40GB download instead, as the patch essentially downloads the entire game to the system's hard drive.
"We have received and confirmed reports that some Xbox One players who have previously applied Patch 3 are seeing a 40GB download instead of the expected 6.7GB download," Ubi explained. "Unfortunately, an issue with the patch downloading process is replacing the entire game instead of just the parts affected by the patch."
While the game apparently will run just fine with the sizeable patch installed, here's to hoping the issue gets remedied sooner rather than later. After all, hard drive space is a precious thing these days.
[Original] The next major patch for Assassin's Creed Unity has been put on hold, Ubisoft has announced.
According to the developer in a post on its live updates blog, the studio delaying the release of its next update to ensure the quality of the main game for its loyal player base.
"As stated last week, we’d expected to release the patch today (and we know that many are anticipating its release), but we are choosing to hold off until we can give you the improvements we’ve promised," Ubi explained.
"We are committed to delivering major performance improvements, which requires that we refurbish the Paris map and that will take a few more days to hit the high level of quality our players deserve."
