Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

Jedi: Fallen Order prequel comic launches today, prepares players for new Star Wars game

EA and Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall, Apex Legends) are currently busy working away on getting their new, original Star Wars game ready for launch this November. Naturally, fans of perhaps the world’s largest science fiction franchise are incredibly excited to get their hands on the game, so today’s launch of a cross-media Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order prequel story should help to pass the time until then.

Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order: Dark Temple #1 is the first comic book in a series of five that are set to pave the way for Respawn’s upcoming action-adventure game. Authored by Matthew Rosenberg (The Punisher, Absolute Carnage) and featuring art by Paolo Villanelli (Tony Stark: Iron Man, Star Wars: Vader), Dark Temple tells the tale of Jedi Master Eno Cordova and his Padawan Cere Junda.

Together the odd pairing embarks on their “most dangerous mission yet” as the Jedi Council dispatches them to the planet Ontotho, where a “mysterious” temple is being excavated. It should’ve been a peaceful mission, but there they find local resistance to the security forces that oversee the work being carried out on the temple, and so the Jedi protagonists find themselves wrapped up in the middle of it.

At this time it isn’t known whether Eno Cordova and Cere Junda will feature in the main video game, but it seems safe to assume they’ll have some degree of involvement with the five comics set to form one complete prequel. We do at least know for sure that they won’t reprise their roles as main protagonists, as Cameron Monaghan will star as Cal Kestis, a young Padawan that’s fighting for his life.

The first comic is available now and carries a teen rating, with the remaining four releasing sequentially in the run-up to the launch of Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order. The main game will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 15.
