Portable ports are all the rage.
In a similar vein to earlier Disgaea titles and the awesome trend of porting good console titles to portable machines, Disgaea 3 has been given the mobile treatment for the PlayStation Vita. The greatest part about it is the all-inclusive nature of the portable beast—the expansion of the world at large and the little touches that bring out more of what we already know to be fun… and funny, judging by the company we all love to laugh with.
The big news is not only the inclusion of every piece of DLC from the original PS3 title, but also the development of two new story chapters after the main story is played through. Two entirely new chapters and two brand-new characters—Stella and Rutile—are present to bring out the best and most brutal from, both physical and emotional (it's Disgaea, it's always like a comedy roast).
Add those to a cast of characters from all sorts of previous NIS games unlocked throughout, complete with new animation and even guest artists working on classic cameos, and how many hundreds of hours are available now? More than you'll ever need.
The touch screens are both supported here, used primarily to control the camera angle and see around (or on top of) those difficult-to-pinpoint baddies. Along with a few touches that make NIS games more than amusing, it's not a major implementation but just enough to include a couple extra laughs here and there. Even if you're not a huge fan of NIS's work, you have to admit they're damn funny!
The portable beast from the RPG-loving Far East will be released in mid-April, so if you're into this sort of thing (and have the new hardware), it should be a Prinny's dream come true, dood!
