Today during its Gamescom conference, Microsoft officially revealed pre-order information for its Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition, a special version of the Xbox One X that launches November 7 for $499.99. Functionally it’s the same Xbox One X you’d get for the same price during the console’s launch, but aesthetically it features the words “Project Scorpio” on the console and controller as well as the vertical stand.
There are a limited number of consoles available during the first run, and preorders are live right now, so if you’re looking to pick one up for the holidays or just want to lock in a console that’s likely going to have high resale value later on, you might want to go ahead and bust out those credit cards to pick one up while retailers still have them available. Here’s where you can preorder an Xbox One X Project Scorpio now.
Where to Preorder Xbox One X Project Scorpio
- Preorder the Xbox One X Project Scorpio at Amazon
- Preorder the Xbox One X Project Scorpio at Target
- Preorder the Xbox One X Project Scorpio at Best Buy
- Preorder the Xbox One X Project Scorpio at Walmart

What to Do if the Xbox One X Project Scorpio is Out of Stock
At the time of this writing, currently all pre-order links are live, in stock, and most retailers are offering free shipping. However, if you go to a retailer and you see “currently unavailable,” that’s hardly the end of your story. You’ll want to monitor NowInStock.net for the latest updates on where and how you can pick up a system. If that seems to fail you, hit up the brick-and-mortar retailers near you and see if you can walk in and preorder a console.
Some retailers will ask you to put money down today on your preorders, namely GameStop, so if you’re low on cash or don’t want to pay right now you might want to see if you can get the store to order one for you online. This has worked in the past for me personally before, but you might want to go ahead and buy as soon as you can so you don’t get left out in the cold.
Good luck and happy hunting!
