Appearance is everything in a game like Animal Crossing Pocket Camp where you can create your own character and meet up with friends. As other people – strangers and acquaintances alike – are bound to see you at some point, it’s worth putting in the time and effort to make your character look exactly how you want them to.
In the opening tutorial, you have the chance to choose your character’s appearance, but clothes and the like are predetermined. It’s only natural that you would want to change your clothes and maybe even overall appearance later on down the road. Thankfully, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp allows you to do that, but it doesn’t do a great job of telling you how.
How to Get Clothes in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp
Once you’ve beat the tutorial and have the entire map opened up, you are able to change your clothes. To do this, you first need some new kicks to change into. You can purchase new clothes from the marketplace area. To get there, simply open up your map and select the place directly west of your campsite.

Upon arriving at the marketplace, you will find just left of you a few clothing items on sale from the Able Sisters. If there’s one you are interested in, walk up to it and purchase it with the required bells. Unfortunately, there can only be a few clothing items on sale at one time, so you may have to wait a bit to find something you like.
The clothes at the marketplace rotate every few hours, so check your map to see what the countdown currently says. If there are any unwanted clothes you have, speak to Mabel and you can sell them to her for bells. To equip your new clothes, select items on the bottom menu, then the second tab that looks like a shirt, and you can equip as you please from there.
How to Change Your Appearance in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp
Sometimes, new clothes aren’t what you’re looking to find in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. Maybe you’re ready for an entire makeover. Thankfully, the way your character looks isn’t permanent and can be changed as much as you want (except gender). Unfortunately, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp keeps the option well hidden in the menus so it can be hard to find.
This is how to change your appearance in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp:
- Select the more tab on the bottom menu
- Choose settings
- Go down to edit character
- From there, you can change your appearance – hair, eyes, color – to your heart’s content!
