Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris How to Start Expansion

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris: How to Start the Expansion

Curse of Osiris drops for Destiny 2 today, but it’s not much use unless you know how to start the expansion. Since PS4, Xbox One, and PC all have different ways they handle downloading DLC, it can be confusing even to know if you have Curse of Osiris installed or not. Below we’ll show you how to download the expansion and make sure it’s installed, and how to access and start Curse of Osiris in Destiny 2.

How to Download Curse of Osiris for Destiny 2

Downloading Curse of Osiris for Destiny 2 isn’t that hard, though unfortunately, it’s not all that transparent either. Depending on your platform and method of purchase, you’ll need to download Curse of Osiris differently.

If you have the Destiny 2 Expansion Pass, you should be good to go. Destiny 2 update 1.1.0 is now available, and it’s this update which includes the data needed to play Curse of Osiris. On PS4, Xbox One, and PC this should download automatically for everyone since you’ll need it to continue playing the base game as well.

If you get into the game when the servers are back up at 1 PM ET, and you find yourself unable to go to Mercury, go into your purchase history and make sure that Destiny 2 Curse of the Osiris says “installed.” If you haven’t purchased the expansion pass or the DLC individually, then you’ll need one of the two to access the new content.

How to Start Curse of Osiris on Destiny 2

Once you’ve installed update 1.1.0 for Destiny 2 and confirmed that you’ve purchased Curse of Osiris or the expansion pass, you can launch the game once the servers are back up. To get to the new Curse of Osiris content, you’ll need to open up the director and check your map.

On the map, right in the middle, you’ll see the option to view the Curse of Osiris cinematic. Once you’ve done this, you’ll see Mercury appear in the same place the icon for the cinematic was. As long as you’ve finished the main Destiny 2 campaign, you can set your destination for Mercury and begin playing the new expansion.
