PUBG Xbox Not Authorized Error

PUBG Xbox Not Authorized: What to do When it Says You Can’t Connect

The launch of PUBG into Xbox Game Preview hasn’t exactly been smooth. One of the issues players have been having is that when they try to connect PUBG says the Xbox is not authorized. The good news is that if you’re getting this message in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the issue isn’t likely on your end. However, there are a few steps you can take to try and clear up the problem.

What Causes PUBG on Xbox to Say Not Authorized and Need to Reconnect?

There’s no definitive answer on what’s causing this error for players, but I’d put my money on server strain. It seems like this error started popping up for people in force around the end of Christmas and into the next day. More than likely the “not authorized” message is displayed on PUBG when the server can’t handle the number of logins that are being thrown at it.

If it says not authorized when you attempt to play PUBG on Xbox One, the first thing you should do is to check the subreddit and the server status to see if others are having the same problem. If they are, more than likely the best thing you can do is sit and wait it out. There’s probably nothing you can do on your end to fix it.

PUBG Xbox Says Not Authorized Fix

If you happen to check out the status of the PUBG servers and no one else seems to be having issues, there’s a chance that you could be running into a glitch. In this case, you’ll want to hard reset your Xbox One and try to reconnect.

If a reset doesn’t work, check to see if your network conditions have changed recently. Head into the Xbox One network menu and make sure you have an Open NAT type. If it’s moderate or strict, follow these instructions to help get it back where it needs to be.
