The new Fortnite 3.1.0 update has been rolled out across PC, PS4, and Xbox One systems. It brings a host of changes to both the Battle Royale and Save the World components. Epic Games has released a full list of Fortnite 3.1.0 patch notes. Let’s dive into them!
Fortnite 3.1.0 Patch Notes: Battle Royale
The highlights of the Fortnite 3.1.0 update for Battle Royale players are the new hunting rifle weapon, the addition of the Lucky Landing location, and changes to drop rates. The hunting rifle is a “single shot rifle that has no scope and is effective at medium to long range.” It has both Uncommon and Rare rarities, and is found in Treasure Chests and as Floor Loot. The Lucky Landing location has been added to the southern edge of the map. It features buildings that have an oriental theme. Epic Games has tweaked the burst assault rifle, revolver, and tactical shotgun drop rates. Here’s how each rarity has been affected:
- Burst Assault Rifle drop chance:
- Common decreased by 20%.
- Uncommon increased by 60%.
- Rare increased by 150%.
- Revolver drop chance:
- Common decreased by 10%.
- Uncommon increased by 33%.
- Rare increased by 75%.
- Tactical Shotgun drop chance:
- Uncommon decreased by 10%.
- Rare increased by 33%.
- Epic increased by 75%.
Additionally, there’s now a reduction in loot dropping at Snobby Shores, the Industrial Plot north-east of Flush Factory, and Tilted Towers.
Fortnite 3.1.0 Patch Notes: Save the World
The notable changes made to Save the World with the Fortnite 3.1.0 update are the addition of the Dragonfire auto-shotgun, and the new “Brave Beginnings” questline. The Dragonfire shotgun is available in the weekly store. It shoots a “cone of fiery death,” which damages enemies in the area. As it’s a heavy auto-shotgun, it has a slower rate-of-fire and smaller magazine size.
