PUBG Tequila Sunrise: What Is the Tequila Sunrise Event Mode?

The PUBG Tequila Sunrise event mode is now available for PC players to enjoy. Like the previous event mode, Tequila Sunrise forces players to use specific weapons and equipment. The latest event puts a heavy focus on shotguns and close-quarters combat. Here’s what you need to know.

PUBG Tequila Sunrise: What Are the Rules?

The new PUBG Tequila Sunrise event mode is all about fighting in close proximity. Forget about mowing enemies down with assault rifles, or sniping them from afar with an AWM, as shotguns are the only firearms available in this mode. In addition to the shotguns, players will also be able to arm themselves with melee weapons. While these won’t be very effective past early game, they are still better than using fists when in a pinch. Both shotguns and melee weapons appear three times as often.

To help combat the high damage dealt by shotguns, Lv.3 armor has had its drop rate bumped up considerably. Endgame loot in this game mode consists of a player’s favorite shotgun, full Lv.3 armor, and plenty of ammunition and healing items.

As the name suggests, the PUBG Tequila Sunrise event mode takes place with the time of day locked at sunrise. When flying above the map, the white zone circle will appear early, giving players a chance to drop within the safe zone. That first safe zone will also be smaller than its normal size.

Care packages have been disabled for this new event mode. Only a Squads playlist is available with matchmaking, and Miramar is the only playable map.

PUBG Tequila Sunrise: When Does the Event End?

The PUBG Tequila Sunrise event is scheduled to end on April 8, at 10 p.m. ET. As soon as that time is reached, the event mode will no longer be accessible by players.

If you missed out on playing it this time around, fear not, as it will likely be featured again.
