Many players and fans are wondering how to play Fortnite on PC. This is no surprise as PC is, what many consider, the ultimate gaming platform out there so it makes sense for many people to want to play it there. In a lot of ways, this is even more so the case when it comes to Battle Royale.
This is because there are so many platforms (and counting!) that you can play Battle Royale on from console to mobile to, of course, PC. With the recent announcement of Android support coming soon, that list is only going to grow as time goes on. But at the end of the day, PC is the baseline common platform that connects (almost) all of them with cross-play so it’s important to know how to play Fortnite on PC.
How to Play Fortnite on PC
Strangely enough, knowing how to play Fortnite on PC is actually a little trickier than you’d expect. Such as the case with Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch and Destiny 2, the Battle Royale and Save the World modes that make up the game aren’t available for download on the typical PC gaming platforms like Steam, GOG, and the like.
Instead, Epic Games forces you to download its own proprietary launcher. To know how to play Fortnite on PC, you will need that game launcher. We’ve got you covered, though. Begin by following these steps:
- Navigate to the official Epic Games website online (click here to do so)
- Select “download” in the upper right corner
- This will download the Epic Games Launcher
- Install the Launcher and then, well, launch it
- Find Fortnite on the Launcher and install it
- Once installed, click it in the Launcher to play
And that’s how you play Fortnite on PC! It’s pretty simple and easy to remember once you’ve installed it but it is understandably annoying having to have another launcher on your computer for just one game.
