Monster Hunter World System Requirements PC: Can My PC Run The Game?

There’s a giant of a Capcom game heading to PC and, as you can imagine, the Monster Hunter World system requirements aren’t far behind. With the game’s release date set for August 9, you’d best start planning now in case you need to upgrade your rig or give it that extra bit of power to make every slash, slide and slither run as smooth as butter.

What are the Monster Hunter World System Requirements on PC?

As per Capcom, these are both the recommended and minimum Monster Hunter World system requirements on PC:

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64 bit required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460, 3.20GHz, or AMD FX-6300 above
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760, or AMD Radeon R7 260x (2GB VRAM and above)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 20GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectSound compatible ( DirectX 9.0c or higher)
  • Additional notes: Mouse, keyboard and game pads (both DirectInput and XInput) are supported. 30FPS at 1080p on LOW graphics settings.

Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-bit required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz or Intel Core i3 8350 4GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB VRAM), or AMD Radeon RX 570X (4GB VRAM)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 20GB available space
  • Sound card: DirectSound compatible ( DirectX 9.0c or higher)
  • Additional notes: Mouse, keyboard and game pads (both DirectInput and XInput) are supported. 30FPS at 1080p on HIGH graphics settings.

The main takeaways to note are that, without 8GB RAM, you’re going to come up empty. A pretty powerful graphics card, ideally one with 3 or 4GB of VRAM) is also required to make things look as good as you’d expect them to and pass the PS4 version in terms of graphics.

If you aren’t matching up to the minimum requirements, it goes without saying that you should probably invest in a new rig, or upgrade your current PC. Gaming laptops, also, aren’t really recommended.

For those who are unsure on how to find their PC’s specs, head to ‘This PC’ on Windows, right-hand click and select properties. A window should pop up in which you can compare and contrast your PC’s specs with the ones listed above.
