A new Fortnite update (in this case, the 5.2 update), invariably, brings a brand-new limited-time mode to the fore. But what is the Fortnite Steady Storm LTM? Unlike previous weeks, this riff on the traditional battle royale mode doesn’t shake things up too much, but there are a few things to consider. Namely, what are the core rules? Can you complete the Week 5 Challenges in the LTM? When does Steady Storm end? Look below for your answers.
What is the Fortnite Steady Storm LTM?
We’re used to the storm closing in intermittently, with a rough guide on where to go next once it does just that. Not so with Fortnite Steady Storm. Each game will last 15 minutes and will have the storm constantly closing in. Here’s the kicker: there are no safe zone circles so you’re going to have to use your map (and your wits) to predict where you’ll need to go next. The official rules (via Epic) are as follows:
- One Storm that closes in over the course of 15 minutes.
- There are no safe zone circles. Keep an eye on the map to predict where the Storm will close in.
- The Storm does 10 damage per second.
- Profile Stats (K/D & Wins) and Challenges are tracked in this mode.
Can I Complete Challenges in Fortnite Steady Storm?
That last point above is a particularly pertinent one. The Week 5 Challenges, it has to be said, aren’t the most straightforward this week. Steady Storm probably isn’t the best place to pull off most of them but, should you desire it, the option is at least there for you.
When Does Fortnite Steady Storm End?
It’s difficult to put an exact timestamp on when the LTM will disappear. Various factors come into play, as seen in previous week: whether the mode is broken, how popular it proves to be, and so on. However, we can expect Steady Storm to stick around for only a week. August 14 could very well be the LTM’s end date.
