The Hearthstone Boomsday Project expansion has been live for a little over a week now. However, it’s been announced that the new Solo Adventure — Puzzle Labs — for the Boomsday Project will be available on August 21. We’ve also been given a taste of what to expect from this unique game mode. To prepare you, we’ve put together a Hearthstone The Boomsday Project Puzzle Labs Guide about what modes to expect from this latest challenge.
What are the Puzzle Labs in Hearthstone?
The Puzzle Labs are a new innovation in the latest Boomsday Project expansion. Unlike previous singleplayer content in Hearthstone where players have been pit against famous bosses from WoW lore in gauntlet-style runs, the Puzzle Labs take inspiration from their namesake. Players will have to solve a number of different types of puzzles, all of which boil down to four separate types that you’ll have to puzzle over in order to succeed in Dr. Boom’s dangerous labs.
Lethal Puzzles
Players undertaking lethal puzzles will have to bring their most explosive Doom Bot posse in order to get through puzzles of this caliber. The name of the game in a lethal puzzle is wiping out your opponent in one turn, and you’ll have to strategize around the cards that Hearthstone gives you. Easier said than done, right?
Mirror Puzzles
Mirror puzzles require players to brush up on their copycat skills. It’s time to make like a Mimic and, well, mimic. To do well in the mirror puzzles, players will have to make sure that their side of the board looks exactly like their opponent’s. It’s not so much about obliterating the competition as imitating them.
Board Clear Puzzles
As the name suggests, these may be the most straightforward type of puzzle. You just have to clear the board. For the uninitiated, that means getting rid of all the minions that occupy the space between you and your opponent. Yes, absolutely all of them.
Survival Puzzles
In survival puzzles, the name of the game is staying alive no matter what your opponent is throwing at you. You will have to make sure that you can dial a healer for these puzzles; we have the feeling that your opponents aren’t going to hold back when they go for the jugular.
Now that we’ve given you a little heads up on the challenges to come with the Boomsday Project Puzzle Labs, it’s time to go away and think about how best to prepare. Perhaps some casual training with friends is in order; after all, Cho’Gall’s proven that two heads are better than one when it comes to critical thinking.
