Tencent Games has announced a brand new battle royale game, Ring of Elysium. The games developer giant is best known for publishing PUBG Mobile and popular MOBA game League of Legends. The Ring of Elysium release date will be on September 19, 2018, for the PC. Read on below to learn more about the new battle royale game and if it will be coming to other platforms like the PS4 and Xbox One.
Ring of Elysium Release Date: What is Ring of Elysium?
Developed by Tencent Games Aurora studio, Ring of Elysium will be powered by the company’s new next-gen game engine, Quicksilver X. What makes it unique compared to other battle royale games like PUBG and Fortnite is that players can’t win a match by simply be killing everyone else and being the last player standing. The main objective is to fight and survive their way across the snowy map, while being assaulted by a vicious snowstorm, and board a rescue helicopter with four vacant seats. This means up to four players will be able to win a match.
Ring of Elysium will even feature extreme sports like hang-gliding, snowboarding, and mountaineering, alongside conventional vehicles like cars and boats, as modes of transit for players. Additionally, players can switch between first-person mode and third-person mode at any time.
Ring of Elysium Release Date: When Is Ring of Elysium Coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One?
Unfortunately, Ring of Elysium has only been confirmed for the PC as of now. Players can already add the game to their Steam wishlist now ahead of its upcoming release. Although Tencent Games has not mentioned anything about the game coming out on other platforms, it could just be a case of when instead of if. Both PUBG and Fortnite have since launched on multiple platforms, including consoles and mobile devices.
If Ring of Elysium turns out to be a success, there’s nothing stopping the developer from releasing it on the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch, as well as Android and iOS devices. In the meantime, check out the official Ring of Elysium trailer below.
