The Pokemon GO September Community Day move has been announced. Pokemon GO Community Days are mini-events that occur once a month on a weekend, and usually offer players unique chances to teach certain Pokemon moves that they wouldn’t usually have access to. This Community Day is Chikorita Day, making it the first Community Day to be dedicated to a Gen II starter Pokemon.
Pokemon GO September Community Day Move: What Is The New Move?
Fans of Meganium will be delighted to hear that it now has access to Frenzy Plant, which is a powerful Grass-type move. Frenzy Plant has been Venusaur-exclusive until now, and not even all Venusaurs can learn Frenzy Plant, as it was an event-exclusive move for them, too. Frenzy Plant is now a powerful legacy move for Venusaur, and Frenzy Plant Venusaurs are very valuable.
Pokemon GO September Community Day Move: How To Get New Move?
The Community Day move was announced on the official Pokemon GO Twitter page. In order to get a Meganium with Frenzy Plant, all players need to do is evolve their Bayleef on Saturday during a specific three hour period. The time periods per region are as follows for Saturday, September 22:
Europe, Africa, Middle East, India: 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m BST
Australia, and the parts of Asia not mentioned above: 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. JST
North America, South America and Greenland: 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. EST
A Bayleef evolved during these time periods will evolve into a Meganium with Frenzy Plant. Although Meganium isn’t a particularly strong Pokemon, it’s still worth getting one with Frenzy Plant while you can. Also, players will gain extra XP during Community Day, and will also have the chance to catch shiny Chikoritas.
The confirmation of Chikorita Day has paved the way for Gen II starters to get their own community events, meaning that it is likely that both Totodile and Cyndaquil will have events over the coming months, too.
