PUBG PS4 Release Date: Is PUBG Coming to PS4?

While PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is no longer the most popular battle royale game around, thanks to Fortnite, it’s still tremendously popular despite only being on PC and Xbox One. However, there may be plans to bring PUBG to PS4, if new evidence is correct. Could PUBG be coming to PS4? Is there a PUBG PS4 release date? We’ll do our best to answer.

What Is the PUBG PS4 Release Date?

At the moment there is no PUBG PS4 release date, because the game has not yet officially been announced for Sony’s console. We’re not sure when it will be announced, but with the performance problems the Xbox One version has been having we can imagine that PUBG Corp will want to fix those first before launching on a new console. We imagine it’ll be 2019, at the earliest.

Is PUBG Coming to PS4?

That’s the big question. Up until today PUBG has seemingly been an Xbox One console exclusive, and has certainly been marketed that way. However, new evidence suggests things may be changing soon, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds may actually challenge Fortnite on PS4. This evidence comes via the Korean Ratings Board, which as of today, September 19, has rated PUBG for PS4. While it was classified as “not for young children” due to violence and realistic weaponry, it has passed classification and is ready for sale whenever it’s ready for release.

While this is by no means confirmation, PUBG Corporation must already have a playable version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PS4 to submit to the ratings board. Whether they will release it is another matter, but we certainly can’t imagine a big third-party game like PUBG not coming to the most popular console. The question isn’t whether PUBG is coming to PS4, it’s when. And when it does, it’ll have yet another platform to compete with Fortnite on.
