Pokemon Go Metagross: How To Teach Metagross Meteor Mash

The September Pokemon GO Community Event is now behind us, and after it was recently leaked that Beldum would be the Pokemon getting a Community Day in October, we can safely assume which Pokemon will be getting a special move next month in Pokemon GO: Metagross. A lot of players have been hoping for Metagross’ signature move, Meteor Mash, and it now seems that this will indeed be the move players can teach their Metagross on October 21. Here’s a guide on how to teach Metagross Meteor Mash.

Although it is not yet confirmed that the October Community Day event will be for Beldum, let alone that the special move will be Meteor Mash, the Beldum leak has gained a lot of credibility since Reddit user DaveWuji posted the following statement on Reddit:

I’m not sure if anyone noticed this before so if this was mentioned feel free to remove. Our next Community day October 21st also is the start of this years period of the Orionid meteor showers. This is an annually happening natural phenomenon where we can see shooting stars in the night sky.

I think this could be even more reason to believe that we will get Metagross with Meteor Mash.

This makes perfect sense, as the folks at Niantic could tie Metagross’ signature move in with the real world shooting stars nicely, especially considering the fact that Pokemon GO! is a game that’s heavily invested in augmented reality, and blending its game world with the real world outside of it.

In order to get a Metagross with Meteor Mash, all you need to do is evolve a Metang during the Community Day hours on October 21. Community Days usually last three hours, and if the most recent one is anything to go by, Beldum’s October 21 Community Day will take place at the following times:

  • Europe, Africa, Middle East, India: 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. BST
  • Australia, and the parts of Asia not mentioned above: 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. JST
  • North America, South America and Greenland: 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. EST

And that’s it. Stock up on Beldums now, so that you have enough to easily get a Metagross or two on October 21. If everything plays out nicely, you’ll net yourself a Metagross with its signature move, Meteor Mash.
