Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – How to Get Ancient Tablets

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey‘s odyssey into becoming a full-blown RPG means that it has all the proper systems an RPG would have: leveling, crafting, a skill tree, and more. Crafting is particularly important, given that you can engrave your weapons and upgrade your ship with materials you find scattered all around Ancient Greece. There is olive wood, iron metal, soft leather, precious gems, obsidian glass, and ancient tablets. The others are easy to find but unless you know how to get ancient tablets in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you might be lost. Here’s how to find them.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Ancient Tablets – Where to Get Them

Ancient tablets are tricky because they are one of the few items that aren’t scattered randomly around the world. There are a few ways to get them: you can find them in Ruins that are all around the map, some forts, or you can buy from certain blacksmiths. But be warned: most shops do not sell them so you’ll be lucky to find the couple that do.

The Ruins are one of the many side activities on the map and are not always labeled as “Ruins.” For example, the one in the picture is called “Mycenae.” They usually look how you might think they’d look: like big ol’ ruins.

The icon is an odd, irregular shape but it is outlined in the picture. Use your eagle Ikaros to spot them. The icon looks like a jagged rock with lines on it, as it should. But be sure to grab the other treasures, kill the captains, and free the prisoners (if necessary) to get the XP bonus for completing the area.

Ancient Tablets are used for upgrading the ship in conjunction with all the other resources in the game. Most ship upgrades don’t take many tablets but it’s a good thing, given how rare they are.
