Assassin's Creed Odyssey Xbox One X

Is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Xbox One X Enhanced?

It looks good, but could it look even better? You’ll be pleased to know that the answer to whether or not Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Xbox One X enhanced is a reality is a straightforward and (mostly) positive one. Below, we’ll lay out exactly what to expect from the super-charged edition of the latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed series – and what it means for Xbox One and Xbox One S users who are looking for 4K Ultra HD functionality.

Is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Xbox One X Enhanced?

Yes! Despite the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Xbox product page confusingly referring to a “release of a content update” before we can feast our eyes on the improved textures, exceptional draw distance, and other graphical goodies, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Xbox One X Enhanced edition is currently live as of the Day One update.

What Does the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Xbox One X Enhanced Edition Include?

While nothing differs from the vanilla game on an Xbox One console in terms of content, you do get access to a suite of upgrades and improvements. Both HDR functionality and 4K Ultra HD support is included on the Xbox One X. However, neither of those graphical flourishes are include on either the Xbox One or the Xbox One S. However, you’ll still need a 4K/HDR compatible television should you want to take advantage of these features.

Courtesy of ResetERA’s Theorry, we now have some numbers to back up the pretty pictures, especially when looking at Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on Xbox One vs. PS4 Pro. The draw distance is edged by the Xbox One X, as is the highest native resolution of 3840×2160. That’s larger than the PS4 Pro’s 2880×1620.

Essentially, if you want the best possible version of the game, you’re going to want to purchase the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Xbox One X Enhanced version – i.e. buy the game, and make sure you both own a 4K set and the Xbox One X.
