PlayStation Network Maintenance – Is PSN Down?
DownDetector, which monitors the PlayStation Network servers 24/7. has had a serious spike in reports over the last hour, with most of them being due to the fact that PlayStation users can’t sign in. From Vietnam to Virginia, players all over the world have lost connection to the PSN servers.
Unfortunately, when the PlayStation servers go down, the only thing players can usually do is to wait. However, one Twitter user has reported that there is a quick-fix available at the moment:

It seems that the IT Crowd-esque turn it off and on again approach is the only way of checking whether the servers have been fixed for you or not. Amidst all the hype of one of the biggest weeks in gaming 2018 has seen so far, it’s easy to panic when the PlayStation servers go down just a day before one of the biggest releases in years. However, the problem seems to have been resolved already, so just reboot your PS4 and try again. You’ll be back online with plenty of time to get Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-loaded!
