Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is still bringing in the players, but the one area that’s been rumored but not yet confirmed is supply drops, or more specifically the “Supply Stream” of new content that was accidentally leaked recently. But what is the Black Ops 4 Supply Stream system, and when does it arrive? We’ll do our best to answer.
What is the Black Ops 4 Supply Stream?
The Black Ops 4 Supply Stream was accidentally revealed in an Activision blog post that was quickly taken down, but caught by Call of Duty fansite Charlieintel.com. It suggests that Supply Stream will be a tier-based rewards system similar to Fortnite‘s Battle Pass. Players can earn new gear as they progress through tiers, but seemingly only cosmetic items such as Uniforms, Weapon Variants, and Emotes.
Additionally, owners of the Black Ops 4 Pass can skip 10 tiers per season, so they can get access to all the new exclusive cosmetic items before any other players. Of course this is still technically unconfirmed, as while it’s from an Activision blog post, as the post was deleted it may have been a mistake. It seems rather specific to be incorrect however, and Black Ops 4 is the first Call of Duty game since Ghosts to not have any sort of cosmetic loot system, and there is currently no way to earn extra outfits or gestures in the game. Seems Supply Stream is likely to happen, but when?
When Does Supply Stream Start?
As of now Black Ops 4 Supply Stream has not even been confirmed by Activision, despite a leak on their own blog site. It’s even still possible that this was a system Treyarch were going to implement but decided not to. It’s impossible to tell right now, but if Supply Stream is still coming (and it seems likely it will), it should arrive soon, possibly next month. Black Ops 4 needs a constant stream of content to compete with Fortnite, and a tier-based cosmetic rewards system is the easiest way to do that. We’ll let you know when we find out more.
