Red Dead Redemption 2 Missing Legendary Animal Pelt

Red Dead Redemption 2 Missing Legendary Animal Pelt – Where to Find Lost Skins

We’ve all been there: the Red Dead Redemption 2 missing Legendary animal pelt conundrum doesn’t appear to be going away any time soon. Whether you’ve been attacked by bandits and ended up losing legendary animal skins, or fallen off a mountain (it happens), then you’re probably wondering where to find the missing legendary animal pelt(s) strewn about the map. Thankfully, there’s a stress-free solution.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Missing Legendary Animal Pelt – Where are My Lost Skins?

If you pardon the expression, this one comes straight from the horse’s mouth. Rockstar has recently taken to Twitter to offer up a much-needed service: the location of your missing pelts. After all that time, it turns out that any local Trapper will hold the Legendary pelts and skins in its inventory, even if you die, or have a Bounty hanging over your head.

However, some animals, such as wolves, don’t necessarily drop resources such as skins and pelts that would immediately find themselves in the hands of a Trapper. Instead, your best bet would be to head on over to a Fence and sort through both the crafting and sellable items menus to ensure it isn’t there. Of course, it can simply get lost, though the game is at pains to ensure you don’t lose anything valuable, even if you, yourself, meet a bloody end before managing to bag a beast’s carcass.

That’s not all. You can, as revealed on this Reddit thread, merely kill a Legendary animal, walk off, and still have it appear in the Trapper at some point, usually within a few in-game hours. You don’t even need to skin the creature, which could save some much-needed hassle. So, go about your merry way and you’ll eventually find a stack of missing animal pelts appearing at Trappers.
