Battlefield 5 Low FPS and Performance Fix

If you’re struggling with Battlefield 5 low FPS, or even lacklustre performance relating to your GPU not at 100% then it can be a little frustrating. With 120 FPS rarely being hit for some players, you’re probably scrambling for a Battlefield 5 low FPS fix. Luckily, there’s a tried-and-tested solution to help optimize EA DICE’s shooter.

Battlefield 5 Low FPS – What’s Causing It?

If you have problems with Battlefield 5 frame rate dropping and the like, it’s a good idea to have a quick double chuck of the recommended settings for the game. In doing so, you might be able to find a workaround on that basis rather than outright blaming the game.

However, that’s not the case for many. It seems that the PC version of Battlefield 5 is poorly optimized, with many on Reddit complaining about such issues. While we could patiently wait for a hotfix and/or a patch to address these issues, there is one method that appears to work more often than not, and can parachute you back into virtual World War Two in no time at all.

Battlefield 5 Low FPS and Performance Fix

A hearty hat tip to @AscendBF on Twitter for finding this FPS fix. Head to “Options” in the main menu, then click through to Video, Advanced, and, finally, Future Frame Rendering. You’re going to want to turn this on if it isn’t already (the game sets it to off by default). From there, restart your game and everything should be as good as new. Be warned, however, that you may get some very slight input lag with this new setting.

If that doesn’t work, be sure to try out the basics: updating drivers, not running anything that’ll take up a big chunk of CPU performance, and disabling DX 12 can work wonders. Now, what are you waiting for, private? Back to the battlefield!
