Red Dead Online, Red Dead Redemption 2‘s online multiplayer mode, is in full swing. What isn’t in full swing, however, is confirmation that people have a Red Dead Online dual wielding option with their character. The option is present in single player, so surely Rockstar Games would include such a weapon option in their online component, right?
Red Dead Online Dual Wielding – Can I Dual Wield?
You certainly can. It would have been a really strange decision on Rockstar’s part not to allow players to dual wield weapons in Red Dead Online, especially when you can in Red Dead Redemption 2. Much like its single player cousin, Red Dead Online only lets you dual wield pistols, revolvers, and sawed off shotguns. Don’t think you can get away with firing two shot rifles, repeaters, or two-handed shotguns then.
Red Dead Online Dual Wielding – When Do I Unlock This Option?
Unlike Red Dead Redemption 2, you don’t start off with the ability to dual wield after, say, a few missions. Instead, you have to wait until you hit a specific level in Red Dead Online and also buy the equipment needed to dual wield.
To do this, you must reach level 25 in Red Dead Online. Yep, you’re going to have to grind your way up through the ranks to be able to hold two weapons at the same time. There’s plenty of ways to gain experience to level up though. Story missions, team deathmatches, Red Dead Online’s battle royale mode called Make It Count, and other fun activities can help you reach level 25.
Once you do, you are able to buy the offhand holster from any gun store in Red Dead Online’s world. This will allow you to carry an extra sidearm on your person, and allow you to dual wield to your heart’s content. Just like single player, you’ll be able to pick up different sidearms too to get that trusty duo that does the business each and every time.
