Fallout 76 Carry Weight Glitch – How to Fix Power Armor Carry Weight

Well, this is fun. There’s a Fallout 76 carry weight glitch surrounding Power Armor and Excavator Armor. And it ain’t pretty. So, if you’re miffed about the Fallout 76 Power Armor carry weight bonuses not working, you may be looking for an over-encumbered fix – and fast. Thankfully, there’s something you can do to at least temporarily alleviate the issue but, be warned, it’s a bit of a hassle to have to do over and over again.

What is the Fallout 76 Carry Weight Glitch?

Oh boy. Where to begin with this one? The Fallout 76 1.03 update supposedly brought about an increase in stash sizes but has also worsened a Power Armor glitch that sees the carry weight bonus not being applied and, therefore, making one of the big pluses (other than the massive suit of armor) of the likes of the Excavator Armor null and void.

So, without this extra boost in carry weight, many are being left over-encumbered, unable to sprint or move anywhere without chucking away a handful of heavy items. But, wait, there’s a cure for what ails you! Of course, this being Fallout 76, everything is just that much more irritating to pull off.

How to Fix Power Armor Carry Weight in Fallout 76

You ready for this? An official Bethesda response (which has since, bizarrely, been deleted but archived here) wants you to unequip every single piece of armor and gear so you’re as bald and naked as the day you popped into the wastes. From there, log out, log back in (though try and get on to another server if possible as that always helps) and re-equip everything. Hopefully- fingers crossed here- that should restore your carry weight back to normal.

If not, you’re going to have to wait for December 11. Sure, it’s a bit of a hiatus from the game, but that’s the planned release date for the next big Fallout 76 patch, and there’s every chance it’ll be fixed by then.
