When is the Black Ops 4 Operation Absolute Zero Xbox One and PC Release Date?

Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch has dropped its first post-launch DLC in the form of Operation Absolute Zero. Or, rather, it has on PS4. Xbox One and PC players have yet to receive this update. So when is the Black Ops 4 Operation Absolute Zero Xbox One and PC release date?

What is Black Ops 4 Operation Absolute Zero?

Operation Absolute Zero is the first downloadable content that Treyarch has released for Black Ops 4. The patch adds a new specialist for players to pick – Zero, a hacker who is available to play in Blackout and Multiplayer modes – as well as a bunch of new weapons, gun balancing, seasonal changes, Black Market improvements, a variety of fixes to different bugs and glitches found in the game, and much more.

When is the Operation Absolute Zero Xbox One and PC Release Date?

Operation Absolute Zero will launch on Xbox One and PC on Tuesday, December 18. This is a week later than the update was available to PS4 players, but players on other platforms will soon be able to get their hands on everything that’s new and improved in Black Ops 4.

Why was the Operation Absolute Zero Xbox One and PC Release Date Held Back?

It wasn’t held back by Treyarch per se. Activision and Treyarch have a deal in place with Sony that enables content to drop earlier on PS4 than its rival platforms. This means that there’s a small window of timed exclusivity that PS4 Black Ops 4 gamers can enjoy over their Xbox One and PC players.

It isn’t a huge wait for an Operation Absolute Zero Xbox One and PC release date. It will have rankled a bit with players on those platforms though, given that PS4 gamers have had an extra seven days with the content. Still, it’ll be available to you very soon, so make sure you have room on your hard-drives for the patch.
