As announced by Niantic in a blog post on January 10, Feebas-themed limited research tasks are coming to Pokemon Go. These time-sensitive events usually give players a couple of extra challenges to complete in-game and, providing you complete them all, you’ll have a better chance of encountering a shiny Pokemon.

The timed event will be a three-hour limited challenge, and when it begins and ends is based on where you live. Pokemon Go players who live in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and India will be able to take part on Saturday, January 19, from 10 AM GMT to 1 PM GMT (10 AM to 1 PM UTC).
If you reside in North or South America, or Greeland strangely enough, the event will occur between 11 AM PST and 2 PM PST (2 PM to 5 PM EST). Finally, people living in Asia or around the Pacific Ocean can take part between 12 PM and 3 PM JST.
