What is the New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe Blue Toad?
Blue Toad isn’t some evil doppelganger of original Toad, don’t worry. It’s merely just another color that you can select Toad as, providing you want to play as Blue Toad instead of original or Yellow Toad.
Blue Toad had initially appeared in the original Super Mario Bros Wii U game, but their absence from the reworked game for the Nintendo Switch was keenly felt by fans of the series. Thankfully, they’re part of the equation, despite Nintendo’s lack of marketing about the character.
How to unlock Blue Toad in New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe
To get Blue Toad, you don’t need to enter a cheat code, complete a certain level, or have to wait until you finish the game. You can access them immediately, so let us show you how.
Load up the game and select a level to play on. Once you have, you’ll be able to select a character to play as, whether it’s Mario, Luigi, Nabbit, Toadette, or Toad. Yellow Toad has been the default color character to select as Toad. However, if you press the L or ZL button on your controller of choice, you can cycle through to the Blue Toad instead.
