Although the Metro Exodus release date is right around the corner on February 15, 2019, you can still pick up a pre-order for the game. The trouble is, there are several different Metro Exodus editions to choose from. We’re here to let you know what you’ll get in each edition of the game, including the pricey Metro Exodus Spartan Edition.
What’s in the Metro Exodus Standard Edition?
Depending on whether or not you pre-order the Standard Edition of Metro Exodus or not and on what console, what you get will be different. Below, however, we’ve included what you’ll get if you pop down a last-minute pre-order on the Standard Edition of Metro Exodus (of course, you will receive the full game in any Edition you pick up and all physical copies come with the Metro Exodus Creatures of Post-Apocalyptic Russia poster):
- PC: Digitial Artbook and the official Metro Exodus soundtrack
- PS4: Dynamic Metro Exodus Theme
- Xbox One: Digital download code of Metro 2033 Redux
You can pick up a pre-order of any of the Editions via the official Metro Exodus website.
What’s in the digital Metro Exodus Gold Edition?
The Metro Exodus Gold Edition is a digital download only. Pricier than the Standard Edition of the game, it comes with everything listed above and more:
- Metro Exodus Expansion Pass on all platforms
- PC: Digital Artbook and soundtrack
- PS4: Two Dynamic Themes and digital soundtrack
- Xbox One: Digital Code for Metro 2033 Redux
While we don’t know exactly what will be a part of the Expansion Pass, if you’re expecting to enjoy the game and want more, the Gold Edition is for you.
What’s in the Metro Exodus Aurora Edition?
The Aurora Limited Edition of Metro Exodus is physical only. It comes with all the pre-order bonuses of the Standard Edition on each console. It also comes with the following:
- A Bespoke Metal Case inspired by the Aurora
- Exclusive Steelbook
- Metro Exodus Expansion Pass
- The World of Metro Artbook
Purchasing the Aurora Edition will set you back around $89.99, however.
What’s in the Metro Exodus Spartan Edition?
The Spartan Collector’s Edition of Metro Exodus is the most expensive set of the lot. You do, however, get a lot of stuff in it, although it seems like it doesn’t come with a copy of the game unless you pay for the Aurora Edition added as an extra. You can get it with or without the Aurora Edition of the game, but this is what you get in the huge collector’s edition:
- Disc copy of the game (seems like if you pay for the Aurora Edition extra)
- Steelbook (seems like if you pay for the Aurora Edition extra)
- Premium Artyom Resin Statue
- Artyom’s Memories Postcards
- Authentic Spartan Order Dog Tag
- Authentic Spartan Order Patches
- A large Bespoke metal Barrel to store it all
As you would expect, the Spartan Edition of Metro Exodus is very limited. It’s also very expensive. Buying the Metro Exodus Spartan Edition will set you back $149.99 plus $44.99 postage and packaging without the Aurora Special Edition included. It’ll set you back even more if you upgrade to that version, which actually comes with a copy of the game, or so it appears.
