Let’s face it, the Dragon Ball universe can be a bit overwhelming and confusing. With a bunch of different games released over the course of the past few decades, it can be intimidating to try to jump in and play if you’re new to the series. Even for those aware of the storyline, playing a franchise game for the first time can sometimes leave players lost, or even make them regret their purchase. This is exactly why Bandai Namco has announced the free to play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite.
What is Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite?
The newly announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It is a free to play “demo” version of the full Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 game that released back in 2016. With the lite version, players are can sample the game to see if they like it before buying the full version. If players decide to purchase the full version after playing through the lite edition, all progress will be carried over to the full version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
The lite version features five different story episodes from the main game: Raditz’s Attack, The Saiyan Threat, Ruckus on Planet Namek, The Ginyu Force Strikes, and The Galactic Emperor. Additionally, players will be able to take part in Online Battles and Online Quests against players with the full version and compete in the Hero Colosseum.
How can I play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for free?
Players will be able to download Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Lite on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 beginning March 20th. Once you have played through all that the lite version has to offer, you’ll be available to purchase the full version and carry over your progress. However, it seems the lite version is only available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, even though the full game is available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
