Sega Genesis Mini release date, preorders, and games

After promising fans a Sega Genesis Mini back in 2018, Sega decided that they would need to delay their miniature console until 2019 in order to have a worldwide launch. Well, fast forward a few months and we now have the official 2019 release date for the Sega Genesis Mini, along with the list of games that are going to be included and the preorder price for the Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive Mini.

When is the Sega Genesis Mini release date?

Sega Genesis Mini

The Sega Genesis Mini is currently scheduled for a September 19, 2019 release date. The classic console will be pretty much the same, just a little bit smaller. Fans were left disappointed in 2018 when Sega announced that the console would be launching last year, so hopefully this time the release date will stick.

How much will the Sega Genesis Mini cost and where can I preorder it?

Sega Genesis Mini

The miniature console will cost $79.99/£69.99 and is currently available for preorder through Amazon and other retailers. If you preorder the classic console now, you’re assured to get one upon release. However, if you wait for the actual release, there could be a shortage (looking at you Nintendo). So if this is something you’re interested in, it’d be best to go ahead and preorder it now. You can always cancel it if you change your mind.
