You might be wondering if there’s a Borderlands 3 cross platform feature in the game. People will want to know if cross-play is available between Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Find out all there is to know with our Borderlands 3 cross platform guide.
Borderlands 3 Cross Platform | Is cross-play available?
Cross-play is available in Borderlands 3, but not for all platforms it seems. According to the official Microsoft store page for the game, Borderlands 3 cross platform co-op will be available specifically between PC and Xbox One users. This won’t come as a surprise to many gamers, as other titles on both platforms have had similar mechanics as part of Microsoft’s “Play Anywhere” feature for some time now.
The same can’t be said for PS4 owners playing with Xbox One and PC players, though. As it stands, there’s no way for PS4 gamers to cross-play with others.
Borderlands 3 Cross Platform | Will PS4 cross-play ever be available?
There’s the possibility that Borderlands 3 cross platform will be made available to PS4 owners. Whether this is in time for release day, or some time after launch, is unclear.
However, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford hinted that cross-play would be something that could come to PS4 players in the future. On his personal Twitter account, Pitchford explained that the Gearbox team have a “very keen interest” in cross-platform play.
Elaborating on that point, he went on to say that he believed that “multi-platform support is a pre-requisite” in modern day gaming, so don’t rule anything out.
There’s really no reason that Borderlands 3 cross-play won’t be made available to every gamer on Xbox One, PC, and PS4. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to suggest cross-platform play will be present on all platforms at the time of the game’s launch. If we hear any more details about cross-platform play ahead of the game’s September 13 release date, we’ll be sure to let you know.
