How to get the Liberty Desert Eagle pistol in The Division 2

The Division 2 Liberty Pistol

The first step to getting The Division 2 Liberty pistol is finding the base gun, which can be tricky. This is probably the hardest part of the process because you can only find the gun  from a random drop. The base gun that you’re going to need is the level one high-end D-50. There isn’t anything that you can do to acquire this model specifically except to keep your eye out for it while you’re playing through different missions. However, it does seem that some people have had luck finding it at the end of the invaded Potomac Event Center mission, so you might want to start there if you don’t have it already.

While you need the level one high end D-50 to craft the Liberty pistol, you don’t have to have it before you can begin the next steps. So, if you don’t have it yet, don’t worry: Just keep your eye out for it while moving on to the next steps. If for some reason you don’t find it while completing the next step, just go back through and play some old missions, it will show up eventually.

Aside from the base gun, the next thing you’ll need is the Pistol: Trigger & Mechanism. To get this, all you need to do is play through the story until you have gotten to the Capitol Building stronghold where you must kill Kindra Nelson. Once you do that, she will drop the Pistol: Trigger & Mechanism card.

Next up is the Pistol: Receiver & Paintjob. You can get this by heading to the American History Museum and taking out Captain Briggs. You’ll need to complete this mission, along with the next two, on Hard difficulty to get the item to drop, otherwise you won’t get it. Once you have this piece, head over to the Viewpoint Museum mission. Complete the mission on hard and kill Sergent Carl Wade to get the Pistol: Sight & Rail item.

The last two pieces you need can be found in the Space Administration HQ mission. Complete the mission on hard and kill Master Sergeant Steve Quiroz, who will drop the Kendra’s Liberty Blueprint and the Pistol: Grip & Tags. Once you’ve done this, you’ll have everything you need to craft The Division 2 Liberty pistol. Simply go to the crafting table and you can make the weapon.

What is the big deal about The Division 2 Liberty Pistol?

The Division 2 Liberty Pistol

You may be thinking that this sounds like a lot of effort for one sidearm, and you wouldn’t be wrong. Well, let me tell you, the Liberty pistol is worth the trouble! It may be a lot of work, but once you see the gun’s stats, you just might change your mind:

  • When aiming the Liberty pistol, hostile electronics and enemy weak points are highlighted
  • Deal 100% increased damage to enemy electronics
  • Once an enemy’s weak point is destroyed, the next bullet will deal 500% weapon damage
  • If the shot kills the enemy, your magazine will be refilled and you will 100% increased damage for the rest of the magazine
  • When the Liberty pistol is holstered, destroying weak points will refill 20% of the weapon’s magazine

Are you convinced yet? While the Liberty pistol may only be a sidearm, it is definitely one of the better weapons in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. You certainly don’t need it to be successful in the endgame missions, but it will definitely make playing a little bit easier. It does take a lot of work to get, but what good things in life come easy?
