So far, there have been two particularly interesting rewards announced for the Pokemon Pass app. Trainers who visit Target stores will find standees with a QR code; scanning this code with the app will allow you to get some shiny Pokemon! You’ll get a Shiny Pikachu if you own Pokemon Let’s Go, Eevee! and you’ll get a Shiny Eevee if you own Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu!.

Here are the stats for the Shiny Pikachu and the Shiny Eevee that you can get with the Pokemon Pass app:

Pokemon Pass App | How does the Pokemon Pass app work?

Simply put, the Pokemon Pass app is a link between your Pokemon Trainer Club account and the real world. To start, you’re going to have to download the app and link your Pokemon Trainer Club account with the Pokemon Pass app. Here’s where you can get the app:

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pokemon.pokemonpass&hl=en

iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pokemon-pass/id1452926079

It should be noted that while the app may be available for download, user reviews are reporting that it’s not allowing them to log in just yet. Odds are, you’ll be able to download the app a little early but you won’t be able to use it until something gets turned on server-side.

Once you have your Pokemon Trainer Club account and the Pokemon Pass app all set up, it’s simply a matter of finding QR codes in the real world to scan. Scanning these codes will score you some sweet free rewards for your games. So far, the advertisements noted in a tweet by @Tsukento indicate that you can get a Shiny Pikachu for Let’s Go Eevee and a Shiny Eevee for Let’s Go Pikachu. Another poster featuring Psyduck says that you can get a Detective Pikachu sticker by scanning the QR code on that poster.

Additionally, the announcement for the Pokemon Pass app states that it will notify players about other nearby rewards that they could earn based on geolocation data. You might have to walk a bit, but hey — it’s a good chance to catch some more critters with Pokemon Go while you’re out there!

There’s one last interesting bit of information about the Pokemon Pass app — it seems that there will also be highly time-sensitive rewards available to players. The first of these rewards are related to the Detective Pikachu movie. Visit any participating Target on the movie’s release date of May 11, 2019, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM in your local timezone and you can get a brand-new Psyduck promo card for the Pokemon Trading Card Game and a movie poster. Supplies of the promo card and poster are sure to be pretty limited, so you’ll probably want to act fast to get it! It’s also probably a good idea to do any normal shopping at Target the day before; it’s sure to be packed with Trainers on May 11!

The QR codes don’t work just yet, but they probably will on the app’s launch date of May 11, 2019. You’ll have until June 23, 2019, to get this particular batch of rewards. There’s sure to be more freebies to grab in the future, so grab the Pokemon Pass app and get it set up as soon as you can!
