In celebration of Red Dead Online leaving the beta phase, Rockstar Games has decided to make Red Dead Online free for a limited time to all PlayStation 4 players. Red Dead Online for free is coming alongside the newest update which offers loads of new content to the online component, including one of its biggest additions, Poker! Red Dead Online will be playable for free without PS Plus from May 14-May 27. So, how do you play Red Dead Online without PS Plus?
Red Dead Online | How to play without PS Plus
The answer is pretty simple, actually. All that you need to do is own a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 for your PlayStation 4. There is no trick or gimmick to it! Rockstar is simply opening up their beautiful online world to players so that they can get a feel for what Red Dead Online has to offer during this free trial period.
If you find yourself loving the online portion of Red Dead Redemption 2 and want to keep playing more, PlayStation is also offering a deal on PS Plus memberships for Red Dead Redemption 2 players. PlayStation is offering 12 months of PS Plus for $47.99 (normally $60) and PS Plus for 3 months for $20.99 (normally $24.99). The deal is only available for purchase within Red Dead Redemption 2 so you cannot cash in on the deal if you don’t own the game. Additionally, subscribers will get 10 gold bars per month during their subscription if they subscribe to PS Plus through the special deal.
Red Dead Online launched just a few weeks after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 last fall. It is an online component of the game that allows players to further interact with the environment and other players once they have finished the main campaign. The online component just moved out of its six-month beta period with the latest update and has decided to celebrate by allowing PlayStation 4 players to jump in without a PS Plus subscription.
