The official Pokemon Go Twitter page recently announced the Pokemon Go Invitational 2019, which is set to begin in just a few days. The Invitational will headline some of the best Pokemon Go players around and will feature Trainer Battles prior to the opening ceremonies of the Pokemon World Championship. The Invitational will feature eight players, with only one of them being crowned champion. Here is everything you need to know surrounding the players, rules, and the dates for the Pokemon Go Invitational.
Pokemon Go Invitational 2019 | Players, rules, and dates
As stated above, the Pokemon Go Invitational will take place right after the opening ceremonies of the Pokemon World Champions on August 16 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The event will feature eight players who will compete in head-on-head Trainer Battles. The Invitational will be structured as a double-elimination tournament, meaning each player has a little bit of wiggle room if they lose a game.

As you can see in the list below, one lucky fan will get to participate in the Pokemon Go Invitational 2019. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any details released stating how you can get a chance to be that fan. For those competing in the Invitational, they will have to choose a team of six Pokemon (none of which can be the same species), and will best of five matches, with the winner advancing to the next round.
The Invitational and the Pokemon World Championship will be livestreamed on the Pokemon Twitch channel, starting at 9:30 AM ET on August 16. The event will run through August 18, so you can check in throughout the weekend to fulfill all of your Pokemon needs.
