Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been out for nearly two years now, and despite a somewhat rocky launch the game has grown and has a whole new lease of life now. This is primarily down to the constant stream of updates and new content that has been added to the game by EA DICE, and Battlefront 2 is about to get its biggest boost yet. The roadmap for the rest of the year includes Instant Action mode, Republic Clone Commandos, The Rise of Skywalker content, and a Star Wars Battlefront 2 co-op mode. But when does the co-op mode launch, and how will it play?
When will Star Wars Battlefront 2 Co-op mode launch?
The Star Wars Battlefront 2 co-op mode was revealed in the roadmap for the rest of 2019, and the good news is that players won’t have long to wait to get their own squads together and play with their friends. While we don’t yet have an exact day, co-op mode will launch next month, in September 2019. It will most likely be towards the end of the month, but still, not too long to go.
How will Star Wars Battlefront 2 co-op play?
The new co-op mode is the first of its type in Star Wars Battlefront 2. While there has always been small team-based combat in the game, the smallest is the 8v8 Strike mode. Co-op mode has a maximum of four players, all on the same side. Other than single-player and Arcade mode, co-op mode will be the first Players vs. Enemies mode in Star Wars Battlefront 2. Two to four Players will take on objectives, and much like the Capital Supremacy mode, Co-op will take place entirely in the Clone Wars period of Star Wars history for now.
Players will be able to choose either the Republic or the Separatist sides and fight on any of the Clone Wars planets: Kashyyyk, Kamino, Naboo, Geonosis, and the upcoming new planet of Felucia. More details will be revealed soon.
