Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the latest and biggest DLC expansion to come to 2018’s Monster Hunter World, brings Capcom’s methodical third-person action game to the snowy Hoarfrost Reach region. Monster Hunter World has previously received a long list of small paid DLC in addition to free crossover content, like the addition of Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy. This may leave many wondering: Is Monster Hunter World: Iceborne free? In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne price.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne | Is it free?
Since the game’s January 2018 release, Capcom has been adding small bits of free and paid content into Monster Hunter World, from costumes for your Handler companion to a Monster Hunter World Witcher crossover. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, however, is something different, offering much more content, akin to a traditional expansion rather than a smaller DLC pack. Whether it’s because of this sheer amount of content or not, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is not free.

According to GameRevolution’s Monster Hunter World: Iceborne reviewer Jason Faulkner, Iceborne was “absolutely the best thing Capcom could do to add new content” to the game. It provides new armor sets, monsters, and an entire new region to explore, adding up to an additional 20 to 30 hours of content. Capcom has also announced that even more monsters will come to the Iceborne expansion as time goes on, like the terrifying Rajang, which will be released in October.
