SimCity (2013) City Specialization: Culture & Landmarks Reference Guide

City Specialization - Culture & Landmarks Reference Guide

Tourism is a multifaceted specialization with numerous components. Every city has an attraction rating for each wealth class (low, medium, high) affected by the type of attractions, mass transit systems, parks, and commerical buildings in your city. Low-wealth tourists tend to use take buses cars; medium-wealth tourists like streetcars, railroads, and ships; and high-welath tourists are international jet-setters who demand to take limos whereever they go. Also make sure that these tourists have hotels to stay at serving their class by either attaching hotels to casinos, plopping commerical zones around attractions, and using parks to control the wealth status of the hotels themselves.

That said, it's extremely important to have a substantial mass transit system, particularly if you pick the culture specialization with expo centers and pro stadiums. A Passenger Train Station, a Bus Stop, and a Streetcar Stop at these locations are highly recommended. Otherwise, you'll have traffic jams left and right. At the same time, you want tourists to stay in your city when they attend the special events in your city by sticking commercial shops and hotels nearby. Better yet, stick one of the many available landmarks in your city. As long as you have the buildings to keep tourists busy, you'll see the dough start raking in.
