With Code Vein releasing on multiple systems, fans are hoping for cross-play. Cross-platform capability is a major boon for those who have friends across multiple platforms, and if Xbox One, PS4, and PC gamers could all play Code Vein together, it’d make the game that much more attractive. Read on below to find out all there is to know about Code Vein cross-play.
Does Code Vein have cross-play?
Unfortunately, Code Vein does not feature cross-play. There is no ability for cross-platform multiplayer and PC, PS4, and Xbox One players are segmented into their own populations. While there is co-op, you’ll be stuck hanging with those who are on the same platform as you.
Cross-play is a rare feature, despite how many players want it, and we’re not likely to see it in Code Vein. It’s doubtful that cross-platform play will be patched in, so when you’re choosing which platform to buy the game on, you’ll want to make sure its the one that you’re friends are on.
Bandai Namco hasn’t commented on why cross-play isn’t available in the game. There’s likely a number of reasons for its omission, and since many developers avoid adding the feature, there’s probably some difficulty to making it work. Hopefully, with the next generation of consoles on the horizon, we’ll start seeing more cooperation between Sony, Microsoft, and PC distribution platforms towards making cross-play more common.
As more and more players clamor for cross-play, each game that comes out missing the feature seems makes it seem like they’re missing something. However, cross-platform play isn’t very common, so it’s not surprising Code Vein doesn’t include it. While games like Fortnite feature cross-play, even for that massively popular game it was a long road.
