Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta

How to hold your breath in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

In a tactical shooter, it’s vitally important that players know how to hold their breath and steady their aim, allowing them to make precision shots at long distances. So how to hold your breath in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is a skill you’ll need to learn and, luckily, GameRevolution is here to serve as your sensei.

A majority of games would most likely have you aim down sights and then press in one of the analog sticks in order to hold your breath and steady your hands (unless you’re playing the original Metal Gear Solid, that is, in which case you’ll instead need to find the drug diazepam), but with Breakpoint Ubisoft has adopted a different approach.

Rather than sticking to the tried and true method, in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint players will simply need to slightly depress the left trigger when aiming instead of pulling it all the way down. A full press is for standard aiming only, so you’ll need to have a light touch and stop your finger halfway down in order to land the most taxing of shots.

If that feels a little alien to you — which is understandable, because it can when you’re so accustomed to the full press — it’s also possible to head to the settings menu and change the button mapping from default. This means that players can revert to perhaps the more natural option of L3 for steady aiming with held breath.

The Ghost Recon: Breakpoint beta went live yesterday and is scheduled to run until Monday, September 29 at 6 am EDT. Being an open beta it’s free and unrestricted to all players, who simply need to digitally download it on PC, PS4, or Xbox One.
