Rocket League 1.68 Update Highlights | Haunted Hallows event

Rocket League 1.68 Update

Fans of all things spooky and Halloween have a lot to look forward to in Rocket League’s latest Haunted Hallows event. This year’s Rocket League Halloween event is looking to be the biggest and best one yet. You shouldn’t be surprised to hear, therefore, that it’s the main focus of the 1.68 update, which has now gone live across all platforms. Alongside the annual spooky event, however, there are also a number of quality-of-life improvements and additions in the update.

Haunted Hallows Event

Rocket League’s annual Halloween extravaganza is back! Beginning on October 14, 2019, Haunted Hallows looks to bring the spookiness back into everyone’s favorite soccar game. Psyonix has stated that this year’s event should be different. You should, apparently, “flip what you expect from the usual Haunted Hallows.” Don’t worry, though, as you’ll still be able to dress your Battle-Car up in scary ways and earn the traditional Candy Corn currency.

Quality-of-life Improvements

Alongside the Haunted Hallows event, the 1.68 update brings with it several quality-of-life improvements and additions. It will be easier to party up with teammates you just played with, for example, thanks to the new “Party-Up” feature that appears upon the conclusion of every match. If you and any of your teammates select Party-Up, you will play with each other in the next game.

You’ll also find a new “Quickplay” button. This will immediately begin searching for a match in whatever playlist you last played in. If you’re new to Rocket League, it’ll search for 3v3 Standard matches.

Other improvements, such as a Team-Colored Boost Meter (which shows your team color as a background to your Boost Meter), a refresh to the News Panel, and new Esports teams represented in the Shop should all make for a better experience overall.

Bug Fixes

The update also brings with it a selection of bug fixes, such as a fix to the Player Cam in Spectator Mode, which should now work as intended. Fans of the Farmstead Arena will be pleased to know that it has been fixed, too. You should no longer have any Arena Framework blocking your view while you have Invisible Goalposts enabled.
