How many Ground War maps are in Modern Warfare?

Modern Warfare Ground War maps release date

As outlined above, there are just two Ground War maps available at launch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. These maps are much bigger than their alternatives, due to the fact that the objective-based mode can feature up to 64 players (32 vs. 32) in any given match.

Ground War maps release date for Modern Warfare

Both of the existing Ground War maps are completely new, likely to accommodate the higher player counts possible in Modern Warfare 2019. Some have criticized the new direction taken by developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision, so it’s natural that players are wondering when they’ll be able to try something different.

Whether players want more original maps or a return to the comfort of old Modern Warfare maps through their reintroduction to the game remains to be seen, but currently, Activision is remaining tight-lipped on any possible details. The game has only just come out, so not having a Modern Warfare post-launch content roadmap that extends to new Ground War maps at this stage isn’t out of the ordinary.

It’s more a case of when, rather then if, but currently we’ll just have to be patient where the release of new large-scale Ground War maps is concerned. We’ll be back to update this guide as and when any further news breaks, so you’ll be the first to know.
