A pesky Madden 20 “Server Maintenance” message is preventing players from enjoying the game. This issue is especially annoying for those who want to enjoy the Franchise mode. Attempting to play the Connected Franchise Mode (CFM) results in a message saying: “Franchise and has been gated in preparation for server maintenance and online services may experience unanticipated downtime. Mode will be ungated once maintenance is completed.” So, when can you expect to be able to play Madden 20 again? Here’s what you need to know.
Madden 20 Server Maintenance | Franchise mode not working (CFM)
Madden 20 server maintenance is no doubt annoying to deal with, but it is happening for a reason. As explained by the Madden Team on the EA Forums, an issue “impacting the ability to play online Franchise modes” is currently being worked on. Until this is resolved, “Franchise services may be gated intermittently to address the issue.” So players should be able to get online at some point, but the service will go down “intermittently.”

While the error message is annoying to see, especially during a weekend where the game will no doubt be hit the hardest, it is intentional.
With that said, as it is the weekend, it’s not exactly clear whether or not the developers are still working on a fix. The last update from the team was on November 1, with nothing mentioned today (November 2).
Here’s hoping that the developers haven’t just disabled the Connected Franchise Mode for the entire weekend for no reason. It would be good to get an update on the fixes and an estimated time for when players can once again get online to play some virtual football.
If there are any updates from EA about the Madden 20 server maintenance, we’ll be sure to update this post to let you know. For now, it’s unclear when exactly players will be able to get back online. We hope everything is resolved sooner rather than later!
