Battlestate Games’ Escape from Tarkov is taking the PC landscape by storm right now. Not only that, but it’s also raking in views on Twitch, Mixer, and YouTube, which no doubt has a lot of console gamers itching to dive in and start playing. If only it were so easy. Currently, the game isn’t available on consoles — be that PS4, Xbox One, or Switch — but could there potentially be an Escape from Tarkov Nintendo Switch version released in the future? Here’s what you need to know.
Is Escape from Tarkov coming to Nintendo Switch?
As previously mentioned, Escape from Tarkov is only available on PC at the time of writing. It’s currently in beta and only playable via the Battlestate Games Launcher to those that preorder; the game isn’t even out on leading PC storefront Steam yet. Keeping this in mind, it’s still relatively early days where Tarkov‘s development is concerned.

There’s good news for the patient among us, though. In an interview with Wccftech, the Escape from Tarkov developers stated that they’re “considering” producing console versions of the game. With fans petitioning for ports to be made, albeit targetting PS4 and Xbox One rather than Nintendo Switch, it’s something that definitely has the potential to happen. When it might happen is up in the air, since even on PC Escape from Tarkov has no scheduled full release date.
One thing that could go against a possible Escape from Tarkov Switch port is the platform’s lack of processing power in comparison to others. If rumors are to be believed, however, the launch of a so-called “Switch Pro” might not be too far away. If that’s the case, Tarkov‘s full release being a long way off could actually increase the chances of it being playable on a Nintendo console at some point. If the current Switch can’t run it, maybe its upgrade can, similar to how the New 3DS had exclusive games.
