SoulCalibur 6 | Update 2.04 Patch Notes
The latest SoulCalibur 6 hotfix is a tiny one. So small, in fact, that it only aims to address one issue: PlayStation 4 Tournament matchmaking. It’s a minor sort of improvement, but it should no doubt come as a welcome change to PS4 users.

Here are the full patch notes for SoulCalibur 6 update version 2.04 as provided by the team at Bandai Namco:
- Network Adjustments: We made adjustments the [matching] conditions of PS4 Tournaments
We know, it’s not much to go on. The developers at Bandai Namco haven’t spelled out exactly what has been changed as part of the latest update. Instead, we can only assume that things should be working more smoothly than before. As for whether or not the new matchmaking conditions are based on network connectivity or player skill level, we really can’t say.
However, it’s worth mentioning that one of the game’s more recent updates, version 2.02, offered a fair amount of matchmaking changes alongside a host of different balance adjustments. At the time, the matchmaking updates involved tweaking the match settings for ranked players on Xbox One, plus adjustments to the amount of Rank Points earned by players across all supported platforms. Considering that these types of adjustments aren’t spelled out in the latest 2.04 patch notes, we have to assume that the changes offered in the latest hotfix are largely based on the technical side. At the very least, there shouldn’t be any changes to fighters or overall balance.
Thankfully, the latest SoulCalibur 6 update shows that the development team is still working to incrementally improve its weapon-based fighting series. SoulCalibur 6 hotfix version 2.04 is available for download today on PlayStation 4.
